We help them navigate the city, provide advice, provide medical care and food. We also buy tickets to the country of destination and pay for temporary accommodation. The most popular routes are to Germany, Poland, Norway or Ukraine.
If people plan to stay in Latvia, then we send them to the refugee center at Kalku iela 1, where state organizations help them settle down. We also contact border guards who help with further accommodation and paperwork. Often people are assigned to a distant city, then there are difficulties with moving, because often these are aged people, people with limited mobility or with bags. In this case, the center helps with logistics and finds a volunteer who agrees to take them.
Through the mail ukraineyougfolks@gmail.com or through the volunteers YF Telegram, we work around the clock. Refugees can contact us from another country to plan their journey in advance.
